How to Become an IEC-Recognised Exporter on Tradoi
By Tradoi Team · Published 2026-05-20
Introduction
If you sell to buyers outside India — anywhere from the Middle East and Southeast Asia to Africa, Europe, or North America — you'll need an Import Export Code (IEC), issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. On Tradoi, your IEC unlocks the Export Ready badge and puts you in front of international buyers searching for verified Indian exporters. This guide takes you through getting an IEC if you don't have one, uploading it to Tradoi, and exactly what changes once it's verified. One thing to clear up first: an IEC opens you up to international buyers; it doesn't replace verification. You still need GST or Udyam to be a Tradoi seller. The IEC sits on top.
